Outline done!

I’m feeling very pleased with myself, I must say.

I love outlining. I know writers aren’t supposed to say that, but there it is. I do like to feel organized and a good outline does that for me.

I now know exactly what to write in each scene and each chapter.

Now, it’s not set in stone, of course and there’s a pretty good chance that once I come to write those scenes and chapters, l’ll wander off course.

But, that’s the fun in writing, isn’t it?

And, of course, with Mrs Dracula, I already have a base to outline my story from. I believe Bram was a distant relative. Cousin, maybe?

He did have a wonderful imagination, didn’t he? Although I always thought that some of his work could be improved on. Maybe with a woman’s touch?

Yes, I know there were woman in Bram’s story but I never thought they got the recognition they deserved. All the male characters ran around being all, well, manly and heroic and the women just got to suffer and die.

Doesn’t seem fair, really, does it?

Love, Fran.

Self-publishing Snippets

01. Writers groups tackle AI
Writers groups from all over the world have banded together to create a rulebook for the ethical use of AI in the creative arts. That should go well.

02. New Independent Bookstore
That ruins the argument that nobody’s buying physical books anymore, doesn’t it? The Three Ducks bookstore is in Springfield, Illinois. Wouldn’t you love to know the story behind that name?

03. Trans Horror is now a thing
I love it when a new sub-genre starts to gain traction! Bring on the books!!!

Favorite Book Right Now

Spoiler Alert: It’s always the book I’m currently reading

Lifestyles of the Witch and Ageless: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Cozy Mystery (Season of the Witch Book 1)

A witch.

A vampire.

And a five-hundred-year-old pact between them.

Every summer solstice, a witch must marry a vampire. And in return, a vampire must die as a sacrifice to keep an ancient curse from killing the witches. A pact that was meant to keep peace between Meridian and Mortdale.

When word is sent that the witches of Meridian seem to keep dying soon after they are wed to a vampire, Willow leaves her position as an occult pathologist to marry Lord Logan Duncan and investigate the deaths of her coven sisters.

Working right under the King of Mortdale as his second-in-command, Logan is forced to keep a close eye on his new wife and figure out what mission she was assigned in Mortdale while also struggling to face a plague of madness that is forcing his species near extinction.
